私は、この教室で中国人男性と勉強しています。最近、

「銭湯」の話題でトークしました。私は「自分は銭湯が

好きでよく通っている。でも、東京では残念ながら

どんどん少なくなっているんです。」と話しました。

Tさんは「中国では今でもたくさんあります。風呂のない

アパートもたくさんあります。」というのです。日本を

追い抜いて、急速にデジタル化が進む中国で、『風呂の

ないアパートがたくさんある。』ということが驚きです。

是非、中国の銭湯に入ってみたいと思いました。

次は『カラオケ』についてです。Tさんは『カラオケ』は

もちろん知っていて、よく歌うそうですが、私とこの話を

するまで、「カラオケがヨーロッパ発祥だ、と思って

いた」というのです。彼の持っている日本人のイメージと、

カラオケでわいわい歌う状況が結び付かなかったようです。

私は私で「カラオケは日本発祥の娯楽機である」ことが

世界に知れ渡っている、と思い込んでいたので、ちょっと

ショックでした。人間、話してみないとわからない

ものですね。


I study together with a Chinese man in this class.

Recently, we talked about sento (public bathhouses).

I told him, “I really like sento and often go to them.

But unfortunately, in Tokyo they’re disappearing

one after another.”

Then Mr. T said, “In China, there are still many.

There are also many apartments without baths.”

It was surprising to hear that in China−where

digitalization is advancing so rapidly, even

surpassing Japan−there are still “many apartments

without baths.” It made me want to try visiting a

Chinese sento someday.

Our next topic was karaoke. Of course, Mr. T knows

what karaoke is and says he sings often, but until

we talked about it, he said, “I thought karaoke

originated in Europe.”

It seems he couldn’t connect his image of Japanese

people with the lively, cheerful atmosphere of

singing karaoke.

As for me, I had always assumed that “karaoke is

known worldwide as a Japanese invention,” so his

comment was a bit of a shock.

It really shows that you never know what people think

until you actually talk with them.

西東京日本語教室（Ninicl)では学習者の日本語学習支援の

ため、多くの教材を保有・保管しています。例えば、

みんなの日本語や日本語能力試験合格テキストなど教材が

あります。学習者の日本語レベルを踏まえ、どの教材を

使うかを判断しています。最近ではその教材の数も増え、

保管場所の確保や整理に困っていました。

今回、簀の子やプラスティックボードなどの廃材を

利用・加工し、教材の置台を作成しました（写真参照）。



教材の保管場所を確保しつつ、教材の重さで変形しない

ように補強材を入れ、また、教材を取り出しやすくする

などの工夫もしています。末永く利用されることを

期待しています。


At the Nishitokyo Japanese Language Class (Ninicl),

we keep and manage a wide range of teaching

materials to support learners in their

Japanese‑language studies. These include textbooks

such as Minna no Nihongo and JLPT preparation

books. We select appropriate materials based on

each learner’s Japanese proficiency level.

Recently, the number of materials has increased,

and we had been struggling with storage space

and organization. To address this, we created

new shelves for the materials by reusing and加工ing

discarded items such as wooden slats and plastic

boards (see photos). The shelves are reinforced to

prevent bending under the weight of the books,

and they are designed to make the materials

easy to take out and put back.

We hope these shelves will be used for many

years to come.

今日は担当の学習者さんがお休みでしたが「何か教室で

お役に立てれば」とNINICLに参加しました。中国出身の

女性の担当者さんがお休みとのこと。さっそく彼女と

お話しすることになりました。彼女は5年ほど前から

教室に通っていますが、じっくりとお話しするのは

今回が初めてです。その後、お休みと聞いていた本来の

担当の方も到着され、三人で一緒に学習を進めることに

なりました。

カラオケが趣味というÑさんは大会に出る曲の歌詞を

日本語でしっかりノートに書いていました。「歌の

練習をしたい」という彼女のリクエストで、三人で

声を潜めながら「川の流れのように」を歌いました。

Ñさんは「この曲の歌詞がとても好き」と話してくれ

ました。

それから健康管理の情報交換もしました。

勉強も忘れていません。「ありがとう」と「ごめん

なさい」の場面に応じた使い方を学習しました。

担当の方が、言葉の一つひとつに注意を払い、Nさんが

理解できるように何度も丁寧に話されていました。

いつもと違う方々とお話することで新鮮な楽しさと

学びを得ることができました。

「今日は教室に行って本当によかった！！」と思い

ました。


Today, my student was absent, but I participated

in NINICL thinking I might be able to help with

something. I heard that the tutor for a female

started talking with her. She has been coming to

the class for about five years, but it was the first

time for us to talk closely. After that, her regular

tutor arrived, and the three of us studied together.

Ms. N's hobby is karaoke, and she wrote the lyrics

of her competition song clearly in Japanese in her

notebook. She wanted to practice singing, so the

three of us sang "Kawa no Nagare no Yoni" in quiet

voices. Ms. N said, "I really like the lyrics of this

song."

We also exchanged information about health

management.

We did not forget to study. We learned how to use

"Thank you" and "I'm sorry" in different situations.

Her tutor paid attention to each word and spoke

kindly and repeatedly so that Ms. N could understand.

Talking with different people gave me fresh fun and

learning. I thought, "I am really glad that I went to

the class today!!"

今日は教室で梅雨（つゆ）の話と、みんなで梅雨入り

（梅雨に入る日）、梅雨明け（梅雨が終わる日）の日にちを

当てるクイズやてるてる坊主づくりをしました。

日本では６月から８月にかけて梅雨や台風など、雨が

多く水害になることも少なくありません。

ニュースで「ゲリラ豪雨」やちょっと難しいけど

「線状降水帯（せんじょうこうすいたい）」という

言葉を聞いたらなるべく家の中に入るように、気を

付けて欲しいですね。

そんな中、「明日はどうしても雨が降らないで欲しい」

という時は日本ではてるてる坊主を作ってお願いする

ことがあります。

学習者と一緒にてるてる坊主を作ってみました。



日本人のスタッフも何十年かぶりに作った、という人も

多かったです。みなさんも思い出して作ってみて

ください。

なお、梅雨入り、梅雨明けクイズの正解者については

梅雨があけたら（７月？）、このブログで発表します！

今回の教室が最後になり台湾に帰るCさん、台湾からも

ブログが見られるのでクイズの結果、楽しみにしてく

Today in class, we talked about the rainy season

(tsuyu), and everyone participated in a quiz guessing

the dates of the start and end of the rainy season,

as well as making teru-teru bozu dolls.

すでに30℃を超えた日もありましたが、風薫る良い

季節となりました。

さて、4月下旬と5月上旬にミニミニコンサートに

出かけました。

1つ目は、バリトン歌手塩入功司さんによる「日本の名曲」

コンサート。ワンコイン(500円玉１つ！)ライブ、

45分間です。日本情緒伝承歌人として、古き良き

日本の歌を未来に伝える活動をしている塩入さんが、

四季や故郷の情景あふれる名曲を歌い上げました。

全てよく知っている歌で、とても心地よく聴けました。

アンコール曲は、ナポリ民謡の「帰れソレントへ」

でした。ソレントの景色を語り、故郷の美しさと情景を

歌い上げる「郷愁」を表している曲でした。

2つ目は、熊谷拓真さんによる「ゴールデンウィークを

彩る華やぎのピアノライブ」でした。エントランス

ホールを使っての無料ライブです。30分間です。

エルガーの「愛の挨拶」から始まり、プーランクの

「愛の小径」(たぶん。演奏曲リストに曲名がなく、

「愛の○○」という紹介で○○の部分が聞き取れません

でした…) 優しく上品な感じのする心落ち着く曲でした。

ともに西東京市の「こもれびホール」での開催です。気軽に

行けて、気軽に鑑賞できるコンサートでした。皆様も機会が

ありましたら、お出かけしてはいかがでしょうか。


Although we have already had some days when

the temperature rose above 30°C, it has become

a lovely season with refreshing breezes.

In late April and early May, I went to two small

concerts.

The first was a “Beloved Japanese Songs” concert

by baritone singer Koji Shioiri. It was a one‑coin

(just a single 500‑yen coin!) 45‑minute live

performance. As an artist dedicated to preserving

traditional Japanese songs, Shioiri sang classic

pieces filled with images of the four seasons and

nostalgic hometown scenery. They were all songs

I knew well, and I enjoyed them very comfortably.

The encore piece was the Neapolitan song “Return

to Sorrento.” It expressed a sense of nostalgia by

describing the scenery of Sorrento and singing of

the beauty of one’s homeland.

The second concert was a free “Golden Week

iano Live” by Takuma Kumagai, held in the

entrance hall. It was a 30‑minute performance.

He began with Elgar’s “Salut d’Amour,” followed

by Poulenc’s “Les Chemins de l’Amour”−I think.

The program list didn’t include the title, and I

couldn’t quite catch the second half of the name

when it was announced as “Ai no ○○.” It was a

gentle, elegant, and calming piece.

Both concerts were held at Komorebi Hall in

Nishitokyo City. They were easy to attend and

easy to enjoy.

5月9日土曜日、2時40分から1時間弱、学習者さんの

皆さんと保谷駅周辺のゴミ拾いをして街を少しでも

きれいにすることを目的に実施いたしました。

私達が毎週土曜日勉強している保谷駅前公民館に

お世話になっている気持ちもあり、教室に参加

している外国籍の学習者さんとサポートをしている

日本人スタッフの賛同で実行することが決まりました。

当日参加した人は外国籍学習者が16人、日本人

スタッフは13人で合計29人になりました。外国籍の

方々の出身国は、中国・ネパール・韓国・シンガポール

台湾・インドネシア・インドです。

また当日は、西東京市のゴミの対策の窓口である資源

循環推進課からも分別の仕方などのお話をしてもらい、

全員が勉強できました。




そのほかにも多くの支援を

いただき、さあ、ゴミ拾い開始です！教室として

はじめての活動でもあり、無事故で順調にできるか

不安でしたが、ゴミ拾い活動は予定通り終えることが

できました。

終了後、学習者の方々に感想を聞いたら、多くの方が

「とても楽しかった」「街歩きもできて良かった」など

好評でした。

最後にネパール人とインド人の方が、活動中に出会った

エピソードを紹介します。

保谷駅南口前の広場で二人がゴミ拾いをしていたところ、

小さなお子さんを連れたお母さんが近寄って来て、

「ゴミ拾い、ありがとうございます」といわれ、

小さなお子さんから一輪のお花をプレゼントされました。

私も見ていて、心がほっこりしました。

日本語を習得して、日本社会でまじめに頑張りたいと

思っている学習者さんは、勉強第一ですが、これからも、

教室の皆さんと話し合い、できれば時期を見て、

またゴミ拾いをやりたいと思っています。

学習者さん、日本人スタッフ、そして資源循環推進課の

皆さま、お疲れさまでした。そして、ありがとう

ございました。


On Saturday, May 9, from 2:40 p.m. for just under

an hour, we carried out a community clean‑up

around Hōya Station together with the learners,

with the goal of making the town a little cleaner.

We also felt grateful for being able to use the

Hōya Station Community Center every Saturday

for our classes, and with the support and

agreement of both the foreign learners and the

Japanese staff members, we decided to organize

this activity.

On the day of the event, 16 foreign learners and

13 Japanese staff members participated, for a totalof

29 people. The participating learners came from China,

Nepal, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia,

and India.

We also received guidance from the Resource

Circulation Promotion Division of Nishitokyo City,

which is responsible for waste management.

They taught us about proper waste sorting, and

everyone was able to learn something new. With

their support and encouragement, the clean‑up

activity began. Since it was our first time doing

such an activity as a class, we were a bit worried

about whether everything would go smoothly and

safely, but we were able to complete the clean‑up

as planned without any problems.

Afterward, when we asked the learners for their

impressions, many said things like “It was really

fun” and “It was nice to walk around the town,”

giving us very positive feedback.

Finally, we would like to share an episode involving

two participants from Nepal and India. While they

were picking up trash in the plaza in front of the

south exit of Hōya Station, a mother with a small

child approached them and said, “Thank you for

cleaning up the area.” The little child then handed

them a single flower as a gift. Watching this scene

warmed my heart.

日本では、4月29日の祝日から５月６日までゴールデン

ウイークとなり、お休みの日が続きます。多くの人たちが

旅行や外出をして楽しみます。そうすると、皆さんの家は

誰もいない状態が長く続くこともあります。家に入って

来て物を盗む悪い人（侵入窃盗犯）が動き出す時期でも

あります。注意が必要です。

今日は、西東京市が作った「防犯マニュアル」（悪い人

から自分の身体や家を守るための方法）を参加者に配り、

家に悪い人が入らないようにするための勉強をしました
。
全体の被害の５割近くは、玄関からの侵入です。玄関の

鍵は、ゴミ出しや近所のコンビニまでの買い物など

少しの時間でも必ず鍵を締めること。次に窓も大事です。

侵入窃盗犯は窓の鍵に近い位置のガラスを割って、窓の

鍵を外して入ります。窓にもう一つの鍵をつけることも

効果があります。鍵は１００円ショップでも売って

います。侵入窃盗犯は５分以上かかる家では諦める

ことが多いです。入りにくい工夫をすることは大切です。

他には家の周りは見通しをよくしておきましょう。

夜でも玄関や窓が明るい照明があることは大切です。

なので留守にしていても家の照明はつけておくことは

効果があります。

しっかりした防犯対策をして、安心で楽しい外出や

旅行をしましょう。「防犯マニュアル」は

行けばもらえます。詳しくはそこに連絡してください。


In Japan, the period from the national holiday on

April 29 to May 6 is called Golden Week, during

which many people have several days off in a row.

A lot of people travel or go out to enjoy themselves.

As a result, there may be long periods when

no one is at home. This is also a time when

burglars−people who break into houses to

steal things−become more active. It is

important to be careful.

Today, we handed out the “Crime Prevention

Manual” created by Nishitokyo City and studied

ways to protect our homes and ourselves from

criminals.

Nearly half of all break‑ins occur through the front

door. Even if you are stepping out only for a short

time−taking out the trash or going to the

convenience store−always lock your front door.

Windows are also important. Burglars often break

the glass near the window lock, reach in, and unlock it.

Adding an extra lock to your windows is effective as well.

These locks are even sold at 100‑yen shops. Burglars

often give up if it takes more than five minutes to get

inside. Making your home difficult to enter is essential.

It is also important to keep the area around your house

visible and open. Having bright lighting at the entrance

and windows at night is effective. Even when you are

away, leaving some lights on can help deter burglars.

Let’s take proper crime‑prevention measures so we can

enjoy safe and worry‑free outings and trips.

【日本の行事シリーズ第４弾】

今日は端午の節句（たんごのせっく：子どもの日の

紹介をしました。

新聞紙で兜（かぶと）を作ってみんなでかぶりました！




西東京にほんご教室では、毎週土曜日の１４時〜１６時、

保谷駅ビルにある公民館において、西東京市在住・近郊の

海外から来た人（学習者）を対象とした日本語学習支援や

文化交流イベントなどを行っています。先日は文化交流

イベントとして端午（たんご）の節句（せっく）を知って

もらうため、学習者とボランティア全員で新聞紙で兜

（かぶと）をつくりました。



学習者は初めての経験で大変でしたが、出来上がった

兜を頭にのせることで戦国時代の武士の気分を疑似体験

してもらいました。

日本語学習だけでなく、日本伝統文化を知ってもらう

ことも大切であることを改めて感じました。５月上旬には

公民館周辺の清掃活動を行いますので、是非、参加して

みてください。


At the Nishitokyo Japanese Language Class,

we provide Japanese‑language learning support

and cultural exchange events for foreign residents

(learners) living in or near Nishitokyo City. These

activities take place every Saturday from 2:00 p.m.

to 4:00 p.m. at the community center located in

the Hōya Station building.

Recently, as part of a cultural exchange event,

we introduced the traditional celebration of

Tango no Sekku (the Boys’ Festival). Together

with all the learners and volunteers, we made

samurai‑style paper helmets out of newspaper.

For many learners, it was their first time trying

this, and although it was challenging, placing

the finished helmet on their heads allowed

them to experience a bit of what samurai

warriors might have felt during the Sengoku

period.

This reminded us once again that it is important

not only to support Japanese‑language learning

but also to help learners discover traditional

Japanese culture.

In early May, we will be holding a community

clean‑up activity around the community center.

Niniclでは、春と秋にスタッフ全員のミーティングを

開いています。いつもの活動の前と後それぞれ1時間で

合計2時間弱、負担なく参加できる方法かと思います。

まずは1時から27人の参加で始まりました。

年度替わりなので、活動報告や会計報告、次年度の

スケジュールと役員、ボランティア保険加入希望など

お決まりの話の後で、運営のためのこまごまとした

仕事一覧を共有しました。仕事の見える化が、市民

ボランティアというフラットな人間関関係と仕事の分担、

持続可能な活動に役立つと思います。

特別活動として、活動地域である保谷駅周辺の美化

活動（ゴミ拾い）の提案があり、5月9日の実施が

決まりました。参院選以降、外国人に対するヘイト

スピーチが大きくなっており、地域に貢献し真面目に

暮らしている人たちの姿を見てもらうという狙いも

あります。Niniclでは街歩きや料理教室などのイベントも

時々開催しますが、すべて自由参加なので、当日は

公民館での学習と並行開催になります。

ミーティングの最後に、日ごろの悩みや課題を共有する

時間を設け、建設的な意見交換もできました。

今後も2か月に一度、小さなミーティングを継続開催

していくことになりました。


At Ninicl, we hold meetings for all staff members in

the spring and fall. Each session lasts one hour−one

before and one after our regular activities−for a total

of just under two hours, which we believe is a

manageable way for everyone to participate.

The meeting began at 1:00 PM with 27participants.

Since it’s the start of a new fiscal year, after the usual

topics−activity reports, financial reports, next year’s

schedule and officers, and requests for volunteer

insurance−we shared a list of various administrative

tasks. We believe that making these tasks visible

helps foster the flat, egalitarian relationships typical

of citizen volunteers, facilitates task distribution,

and contributes to sustainable activities.

As a special activity, a proposal was made to clean

up the area around Hoya Station, where we boperate,

and it was decided to carry this out on May 9. Since

the House of Councillors election, hate speech against

foreigners has been on the rise, so this initiative also

aims to showcase the presence of people who are

contributing to the community and living honest lives.

Ninicl occasionally holds events such as walking tours

and cooking classes, but since participation is entirely

voluntary, this cleanup will be held concurrently with

our regular study session at the community center

on the same day.

At the end of the meeting, we set aside time to share

our daily concerns and challenges, which led to a

constructive exchange of ideas. We have decided to

continue holding these small meetings once every

two months going forward.

先日、私はヒマラヤの国ネパールというテーマで発表を

行いました。母国について日本語で発表する機会は非常に

あり、準備から本番まで多くの学びと発見がありました。



発表では、ネパールの地理、文化、観光地、食文化、伝統、

歴史、そして地政学的な関係など、さまざまな視点から

紹介しました。

雄大なヒマラヤ山脈に囲まれた自然の美しさや、他民族・

多言語国家としての文化の豊かさ、世界的に有名な観光地

などを通して、少しでもネパールの魅力を伝えられたのでは

ないかと思います。

また、伝統的な食事であるダルバートや、祭りや習慣と

いった日常生活に根付く文化にも触れることで、

ネパールを多面的に理解してもらえるよう心がけました。

発表後には、多くの方から温かいフィードバックを

いただき、とても嬉しく感じました。



「ネパールについてよく理解できた」「行ってみたく

なった」と言っていただき、自分の伝えた内容がしっかり

届いたことに大きな達成感を覚えました。

この場を借りて、いつも励ましとサポートをして

くださった富澤先生に心より感謝申し上げます。

先生のご指導と応援があったからこそ、自信をもって

発表をすることができました。ほんとうにありがとう

ございました。また当日聞いてくださった皆さんにも

感謝いたします。皆さんの笑顔や反応のおかげで、

緊張していた私もリラックスして話すことができました。

今回の経験を通して、日本語で自分の考えや文化を

伝える力の大切さを改めて実感じました。これからも

学びを続け、より分かりやすく、魅力的に伝えられる

The other day, I gave a presentation on the theme

“Nepal, the Land of the Himalayas.”

It was a valuable opportunity to speak in Japanese

about my home country, and I learned a great deal

throughout the preparation and the actual

presentation.

In my talk, I introduced Nepal from various

perspectives, including its geography, culture,

tourist destinations, food culture, traditions,

history, and geopolitical relationships.

Through the natural beauty of the majestic

Himalayas, the cultural richness of a multiethnic

and multilingual nation, and its world‑famous

tourist sites, I hope I was able to convey at

least a glimpse of Nepal’s charm.

I also talked about aspects of daily life, such as

the traditional dish dal bhat, festivals, and

customs, so that the audience could gain a more

multifaceted understanding of Nepal.

After the presentation, I received many warm

comments, which made me truly happy.

Hearing people say, “I learned a lot about Nepal”

or “I want to visit someday” gave me a strong

sense of accomplishment, knowing that what

I wanted to share had reached them.

I would like to take this opportunity to express

my heartfelt gratitude to Professor Tomizawa,

who always encouraged and supported me.

Thanks to your guidance and warm support,

I was able to present with confidence.

Thank you very much. I am also grateful to

everyone who listened on the day of the

presentation.

Your smiles and reactions helped me relax, even

though I had been nervous.

Through this experience, I once again realized the

importance of being able to express my thoughts

and culture in Japanese.

I will continue studying so that I can communicate

more clearly and engagingly in the future.
