今日のブログのテーマは、日本における外国人児童の教育です。

このテーマは多くの外国人が直面している問題だと思います。

以前、私たちは静岡にあるブラジル人学校へ行きました。
この時の訪問は、外国人児童の教育について考えさせられる機会になりました。
ここに通う子どもたちは、将来ブラジルに戻り、ブラジルで高等教育を受けるために来ています。
ブラジルの教育システムに入るためには、ブラジル政府に認定されている学校で学ぶ必要があるからです。
この学校は政府に認定されているので、今度ブラジルにもどった時に、ブラジルの学校に入ることは出来ます。

しかし子どもたちは日本の学校で勉強していないので、日本語のレベルは低いです。
そのため、もし親が日本にもっと長く留まることになった際、子どもたちは日本で進学することが難しくなります。

今後、子どもたちの将来のために教育をきちんと計画することは重要なことです。
子どもの教育の責任を持つのは政府と親たちだと私は考えます。

My theme for this blog concerns the education of foreign children in Japan.

I know this is one problem facing many foreigners.

One situation that I seriously think of is our visit to a Brazilian school in Shizuoka.
I think those kids attending this school are sent because of plan to continue their higher education back to Brazil someday.
To be admitted in the Brazilian education system, they must attend a school in Japan that is accredited by their government.

On the process, they do not acquire a much higher Japanese language proficiency which is vital for their advancement in case they decide to stay here.
Because these kids are taught under the Brazilian education system, they might have less opportunity to pursue higher education in Japan.

Wherever will they be someday, the children’s education must be planned seriously.
Who will initiate and what to do, I challenge the proper authority and the parents in serving the best interest of children.
