映画祭の後、私は３つのビデオワークショップをすることになりました。

After the film festival, I gave video workshops in three different places in Nepal.




１つは、主にタマン民族を対象にしたコミュニティラジオ局・RADIO NAMOBUDDHA FM （ラジオ・ナモブッダFM）です。ナモブッダFMは、２００７年からコミュニティラジオ放送を始めました。

The first one was at Radio Namobuddha-FM, a community radio station, which has been run by the Tamang, another of Nepal's indigenous peoples, since 2007.





８つの言語で１０〜１５の地域に発信。リスナーは大体、５百万人ぐらい居るという事です。
ナモブッダFMは、ラジオだけでなく、ビデオや出版・インターネット配信も出来るメディアセンターを、いつか作りたいという夢を持っています。
シネミンガは、ここに去年も来ていて、ドキュメンタリーの撮影を始めています。

They broadcast in 10 to 15 districts in 8 languages to 5 million listeners.
They have a dream to create a media center which can do radio and video broadcasting, web streaming, and publishing.
Cineminga visited them last year and started making a documentary film about the Tamang people.



ビデオ制作は初めての参加者に、私は短いプロモーションビデオを作ったらどうかと提案しました。さすがラジオ局、原稿をスタッフが書いて、交代で撮影し、カット編集を技術スタッフを中心に教えました。
編集時間は３時間ぐらいしかなかったので、最後は私が操作して欲しいという事になり、写真や音楽を入れて、９分ほどのビデオが完成しました。

None of them at Namobuddha have ever done video making, so I suggested to them to make a short promo video about Radio Namobuddha-FM. They came up with a script (of course, they are the radio broadcasters!), and they filmed each other, and I taught cutting technique mainly, to the tech staff.
We only had three hours for editing, so in the end, they asked me to finish editing the video. I added the photos and music and they observed. Finally, we had a 9-minute video!

２つ目は映画祭を主催しているIFAでの３日間のファイナルカットプロというソフトを使ったビデオ編集ワークショップでした。
参加者は９人。 初心者も多く、編集した事がある人は１人だけでした。覚える為には実際に操作するのが一番！２つのチームに分かれて、ドキュメンタリーとフィクションを作る事にしました。ドキュメンタリーといっても、遠くまで行く時間はないので、IFAで出来るインタビューを撮影して、編集する練習をしました。フィクションチームは、短編の「暴力反対！」に関するドラマを完成させました。

The second workshop was at Indigenous Film Archive (IFA) in Kathmandu.
It was a three-day editing workshop about Final Cut Pro, a professional editing application.
Among nine participants, most of them were beginners and we had one editor.
The best way to learn editing is : do it!
So we decided to make one documentary and one fiction film in two teams. We didn’t have enough time to go filming far away, so the documentary team did interviews at IFA, and practiced editing. The fiction team made a short film against violence.
